A 10-year-old boy earns RMB 50K monthly by teaching English on Kuaishou (快手)

Kuaisho has 1.6 million paid users on paid education courses.
Sam is a 10-year-old boy from a Chinese immigrant family in the United States. He has an account on the Chinese short video platform Kuaishou (快手) with 735 thousand followers. In the short videos, Sam usually introduces some daily things in the US, e.g. supermarket or restaurant, and points out a few English terms, reads them slowly and explains the meaning.
Apart from free short video sharing, Sam also uploaded paid video courses on Kuaishou for viewers with different English levels. The course fee is around RMB 19-25 each. The most popular course has bought by around 3,600 users.
According to Kuaishou, there are over 1 million teachers on the platform, half of them can earn money through paid video courses. Courses on Kuaishou cover various topics, e.g. language, interest classes, vocational education, etc. Kuaisho has accumulated 1.6 million paid users since it launched the paid education courses in June 2018. It is now welcoming education institutions to participate to further develop the Kuaishou education courses
