Xiaohongshu introduces Community Specialist for better Content Supervision

The Chinese app Xiaohongshu launches position of "community specialist (内容生态官)" to users recently. Community specialist can vote on certain posts to indicate any regulation violation. Their votes can influence if the posts can stay or go.

The position is by invitation. The basic criteria include over a year registration, no violation records, and account bounded with phone number. Users who get invited need to complete a test with 15 questions, those get 9 correct answers can become community specialist.

Xiaohongshu, as a user-generated content platform with over 250 million registered members, is trying hard to keep the balance between quality control and content diversity. More and more users complain about fake reviews on the platform. I hope this new policy of community specialist can help Xiaohongshu to gain better community management and provide quality content for the users.
