Xiaohongshu testing to enter the Live Streaming E-commerce market

Live Streaming becomes a must for e-commerce marketplace in China.


Chinese social media platform Xiaohongshu just announced in late November that they will start testing the interactive Live Streaming feature for e-commerce purposes. Early in June this year, Xiao hong shu has already enabled some selected bloggers to use the new Live Streaming feature as testing, but that was simply for sharing everyday life and encouraging engagement with followers. This time, Xiaohongshu will especially focus on using Live Streaming to sell commodities.

LiveStreaming is gradually becoming a must for the e-commerce marketplace in China. Compared with graphics and videos, live streaming gives a stronger sense of interaction and is more likely to trigger impulsive consumption behavior. With Xiaohongshu entering the Live Streaming E-commerce market, the competition will become even more fierce.
